I had heard about the Cain F Lancero from those reviewing the pre-release version of the stick. My local shop manager got 8 of these Nicaraguan Puros, a beautiful box with a glass top with 8 little cedar lined tubos.
The cigar has an appealing chocolaty wrapper with flawless construction, very uniform for a lancero.
The light brought sweetness with notes of cedar, most likely because the tube is lined with cedar.
The First Third brought dark grey ash to the foot. Wow! This is a tasty cigar with lots of great flavor! Its extremely nutty and towards the end dark chocolate comes in.
The sweetness dissipated a bit during the Second Third with more nuttiness. In place of the sweetness was a semisweet/dark chocolate. The sweetness, chocolatiness and nuttiness comes and goes with each draw leaving this a very complex cigar. There is a slight ammonia on the retrohale on big draws.
The Final Third brings much of the same flavors but unfortunately the ammonia picks up a bit.
Final Thoughts: Obviously this being a Cain F, made with straight ligero, this is a stout cigar! Despite a poor ending, I will definitely be buying a box of these. This is truly a delightful cigar!
